Summer school. This format has already strongly entered our university life. Summer schools are perceived as an integral part of big university work. They are carried out already not only in the summer, but the format remains: for several days or weeks the students and undergraduates who have undergone competitive selection gather and communicate with the best experts in the area.

We submit the full review of summer schools of sciences of 2018 which will pass in BFU of I. Kant. The whole ruler which we called the Summer university was built. Almost all of them are in a varying degree financed by means
Project 5-100.
Scholarships in the IKBFU Summer Schools

There is a possibility to win a scholarship to cover your tuition fees. All you need to do is complete these 5 steps:

3. You will be notified on the results within several days of the application.
4. Once your scholarship is approved, take care of your visa and travel documents, and enjoy your time in Kaliningrad!

II International Summer School on the Study of Kant's Heritage "Kant's Teaching on Right, Law and Freedom"
Description: How does Kant solve the problems of the relationship between theoretical and practical philosophy, moral and "legal" oughtness, and the concepts of private and public rights? On these and other topical issues of Kant's philosophy, listeners will search for answers with leading experts in the philosophy of Kant, a professor at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, Heiner Klemme and his assistant, associate professor of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Lyudmila Kryshtop.
The school will incorporate a conference for young Russian and international scientists.

Who the school is for: bachelors of senior courses, undergraduates, graduate students and candidates of sciences (who graduated after 2016).

Intensive Summer School of the Russian Language
Аt the school you will quickly and effectively learn colloquial Russian. You will be immersed in Russian culture and acquainted with the Russian system of higher education.

In your free time, you can compare the historical heritage and modern features of Kaliningrad, enjoy a trip to the resort towns near the cool Baltic Sea. You will also get acquainted with the university teachers and friendly students.

Who the school is for: foreign students wishing to learn Russian.

The course includes:
1) 120 hours of Russian (three 80-minute classes a day);
2) training materials;
3) accommodation in the university hostel;
4) issue of a visa invitation and registration in Kaliningrad;
5) excursions on the campus of the University, Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad region

    International summer school "Religion in Dialogue Space"
    In the center of attention of teachers of school - questions of dialogue of religions and faiths, problems of communication of believers, atheists and people without distinct world outlook prospect, questions of mechanisms of work with historical memory in which there is a continuous process of judgment of the past.

    It will be a question also of ability of theologians, theologians, religious philosophers to answer adequately calls of the present and, using an arsenal of traditions, to give answers to difficult questions of the relevant agenda.

    The research supervisor of school – A.P. Kozyrev, the associate professor of history of the Russian philosophy, the deputy dean of philosophical faculty on scientific work of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

    Target audience: students, graduate students and young scientists up to 30 years.

      Workshops, seminars and lectures of world-class scientists on technologies of digitization of 3D spatial data, computer games in modern culture, historically oriented systems in the context of digital humanities, web mapping and geoinformation systems in the humanities, academic Internet heuristics, and computer linguistics.

      Who the school is for: young researchers engaged in research in the humanities (history, philosophy, philology, linguistics, art, computer science).

      A comprehensive program of the school is complemented by guided tours to the cultural landmarks of the city of Kaliningrad.

      International School for Young Scientists "Smart Nanomaterials 2018: Modeling, Synthesis, Diagnostics" and an International Seminar on the Synthesis of Nanostructures
      Workshops, seminars and lectures of world-class scientists on the synthesis of functional nanomaterials, research methods of functional nanomaterials, automated nano-design of functional materials and more. A unique opportunity to learn and discuss modern research methods in materials science. Outstanding scientists will deliver lectures in the fields of chemistry, physics and informatics.

      Who the school is for: students, graduates, graduate students and young researchers.

      Well-known scientists from Russia, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain will deliver lectures and conduct experimental demonstrations of the effects and phenomena discussed. Young participants will have the opportunity to showcase their research in poster presentations and reports.

      International Summer School "Russian Language in the Baltics"
      The training takes place in groups of up to 10 people, so that each student gets the most out of classes.

      Who the school is for: international students of elementary and advanced level of the Russian language.

      In addition to studying at school, you will have the opportunity to go on a daytrip to the protected area of the national park "Curonian Spit" and take a walk along the streets of the Baltic sea resort towns.

      VII Summer School "Future Lawyers and Economists: Essential Skills to Success"
      The program of the school is a unique set of courses specially designed and aimed at developing the professional and communication skills of future lawyers and economists. Professors from Georgetown, Cambridge, and Stanford Universities, the Institute of Diplomacy of Athens, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University teach at our school. All classes in the summer school are held in the form of interactive lectures and seminars, games, modeling and other types of active learning. In addition to training, traditional team building will be held for all students and teachers of the school on the Baltic Sea coast.

      Who the school is for: students of legal and economic areas, young lawyers and economists, teachers.

      Autumn School on Social Semiotics "Signs and Actions"
      Within the framework of the school, students will be able to consider problems that are necessary for understanding the essence and possibilities of social semiotics. Among them are the history of social semiotics formation, cognitive-functional approach to social interactions, multimodality, achievements and resources of social semiotics, new directions of social semiotics and sociolinguistics.

      The school's mentors are Professor Zolyan (BFU), Doctor of Literature Günter Kress (University of Uppsala), PhD Jeff Bezemer (University of London).

      Why it is worth going to Kaliningrad?
      Kaliningrad, the tiny piece of Russia located on the coast of the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Poland. Kaliningrad is a place of concentration of the natural, cultural and historical objects interesting to each guest. This year the city accepts to FIFA 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. At the constructed Kaliningrad stadium there will take place four matches of a group stage of a world championship. The stadium is located on the bank of the October island, in close proximity to Staraya Pregolya River Embankment. In half an hour of walking the island of Knaypkhof where Immanuel Kant's grave and the Cathedral constructed in the 1330th years are located is a walking step.
      Curonian Spit
      Curonian Spit — the national park and the sandy peninsula separating the freshwater Curonian Bay from the Baltic Sea. Curonian Spit — one of favourite vacation spots of tourists. They are attracted by long clean sandy beaches on the coast of the Baltic Sea and the unique nature of the area. In the small territory the mobile and fixed sandy dunes, pine and fir forests, birch forests covered with a moss and a lichen of a meadow adjoin. Within one day it is possible to bathe in fresh waters of the Curonian Bay and salty — the Baltic Sea.
      The small, but cozy resort of Zelenogradsk annually rivets attention of hundreds of thousands of tourists. The city is located on the bank of the Baltic Sea that creates a wonderful microclimate in his territory. The Zelenograd promenade will please with a fine pier which leaves deep into the seas on 50 meters. Here it is possible to enjoy beauty of the Baltic Sea, having met a decline. You shouldn't ignore also the brightest sight of the city – the Water tower. This architectural monument has quite long and rich history which the person, not indifferent to the past of the country, will want to hear everyone.
      Svetlogorsk - the modern and dynamically developing resort on the coast of the Baltic Sea. More than two centuries the resort is known for the mineral sources, curative peat dirt, the sea with fine to beaches and clean sea air. All city just is buried in verdure therefore walk on it can seem walk on a botanical garden. All residential buildings and architectural constructions are in good shape, are constantly restored.
      Botanical garden IKBFU
      The botanical garden occupies the space of 13,57 hectares, in his territory settle down: greenhouses, hotbeds, pond, nursery of wood plants, collection sites of grassy and wood plants, utility rooms. The collection of thermophilic plants is placed in 6 greenhouses with a total area of 792,1 square meters. Exposition offices - four: tropical, subtropical, palm and succulents. The collection fund contains more than 2500 taxons of plants.
