Scientists of the IKBFU and Klaipeda University are preparing a joint article

What happens when scientific interests coincide with the objectives of the project? That's right, one of the results can be scientific work. Lithuanian and Russian experts of the project, taking part in the development of a new tourist route, prepared a scientific article "Development of geotourism based on the use of geo-heritage (on the example of the Curonian Spit - a UNESCO site").

The object of the study was the geo-resources of the national park. Scientists believe that geotourism can and should be a niche area of ​​nature-oriented tourism that can ensure the preservation and sustainable use of geo-heritage. The study was carried out on the example of the development of a new ecological route "Geological and geomorphological chronicle of the Baltic", which will take place in the vicinity of one of the settlements on the territory of the national park - the village. Fishing.


The project is being implemented under the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Lithuania-Russia 2014-2020. The budget of the project is 299 823,04 EUR, out of which 224 741,04 EUR will be financed by the EU and 45 099,69 EUR will be financed by the RF , the duration – 24 months.
