In case of academic failure
  • An academic debt can arise from a failing grade ("fail" or "unsatisfactory") on an exam or test, an unsatisfactory term paper (project), or an unexcused absence from a test or exam.
    IMPORTANT! If you have a valid reason for missing a test or exam, you must notify your institute administration in writing — this may be done by email, but supporting documents must subsequently be provided in person.
  • An academic debt may be cleared in two attempts:
    the first attempt — retaking the exam with the same professor;
    the second attempt — retaking the exam before a commission of at least three professors

    The deadline for clearing academic debts is set by the institute administration; however, it will be extended in the event of illness, academic leave, or maternity leave.

    If you fail to clear your academic debt within the specified timeframe, you will be expelled. However, you will have the right to re-enrol and continue your studies within five years.
  • An academic scholarship is not awarded to state-funded students if they have:
    • an academic debt without valid reason
    • at least one "satisfactory" grade.
If you have any problems, know that your institute administration is always ready to help you find a solution.
How to transfer from self-funded to state-funded study
Please note that transferring from self-funded to state-funded study is only possible if you have "excellent" and "good" grades throughout at least one semester, or if you belong to a preferential category

Military Training Centre
Want to graduate with both your degree and your military service completed without having to join the army afterwards? We have a Military Training Centre! Here you can qualify as a "reserve sergeant" in two years, or as a "reserve soldier (sailor)" in one and a half years.

Military training takes place alongside your regular academic studies.
