Growth, Skills, Career
— It All Starts Here
Your first year is a great time not only to settle into university life,
but also to start thinking about your development: what skills you need, where your strengths already lie, what opportunities are available at IKBFU, and how to gradually work towards your future career.

The Office of Student Professional Development and Employment helps students develop competencies, find educational and career opportunities, take part in projects, and prepare for internships,
their first job, and future employment.
The Office comprises two centres
  • Centre for New Opportunities
Assists with competency development, diagnostics, selection of educational events, competitions, forums, and projects, and building
    a personal development pathway.
  • Career Centre
Assists with CVs, interviews, internships, vacancies, employer contacts, and first steps
    in your chosen profession.
How Can We Help You?
  • Professional Development
We will help you understand where to begin your professional development from your very first year: which skills to build, where to gain your first experience, which projects to get involved in, and how to gradually map out your path through university. If you are not yet sure what you want to become — that is perfectly normal.
Together we can identify areas of interest, choose your first steps, and find the opportunities that are right for you.
  • Competencies and Diagnostics
We will help you complete a competency assessment, identify your strengths, and receive recommendations for further development.
We will also advise you on which skills are worth developing for your studies, projects, and future career: communication, teamwork, leadership, self-presentation, time management, critical thinking,
    and other competencies.
  • Opportunities and Events
We will invite you to career meetups, masterclasses, webinars, educational intensives, expert talks, and other events that help you grow, get acquainted with the professional environment, and explore different fields.
  • CV and Interview
We will help you put together your first CV or improve an existing one. We will advise you on how to describe educational projects, work placements, participation in events, and other achievements — even if you have no formal work experience yet. We will also help you prepare for interviews: working through common questions, practising self-presentation, and understanding how to talk confidently about yourself to a potential employer.
  • Internships and First Jobs
We will help you navigate the range of internship, part-time work, vacancy, and entry-level career opportunities available. We will advise you on where to look for suitable options, what to pay attention to, and how to choose an opportunity that will help you gain experience in your future profession.
  • Employers and the Professional Environment
We will help you connect with employers and gain a better understanding of how the job market works. To this end, we organise career events, company meetings, site visits, masterclasses, and other formats. At such events you can learn more about different professions, employer requirements, internships, career pathways, and real opportunities available to students.

You do not need to wait until your final year to start thinking about your future. You can begin right now: trying new things, taking part in projects, developing skills, getting acquainted with the professional environment, and gradually mapping out your path.

WE WILL HELP YOU TAKE YOUR FIRST STEPS!
